The GAD-7 is a quick and reliable tool to assess the presence and severity of generalised anxiety symptoms, and is a widely used self-report tool designed to assess the severity of generalised anxiety disorder (GAD) symptoms in adults. It consists of seven questions that ask you to rate how often you have experienced certain symptoms of anxiety over the past two weeks.

Each question is scored on a scale from 0 to 3, with higher scores indicating greater symptoms. The GAD-7 covers common symptoms associated with generalised anxiety, such as excessive worrying, restlessness, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, irritability, muscle tension, and sleep disturbances. The total score on the GAD-7 ranges from 0 to 21, with the following interpretation:

    1. 0-4: Minimal anxiety
    2. 5-9: Mild anxiety
    3. 10-14: Moderate anxiety
    4. 15-21: Severe anxiety

If you would like Mike to make contact with you to discuss your questionnaire results in more detail , please complete the user detailed and email address at the end of the questionnaire. This will ensure (only) Mike receives your results and can contact you. If you wish to answer the questions anonymously, please leave the user details blank.
